IT:“Highlander: l’ultimo immortale”.
This title reminds me not only the 1986 movie set in the Highlands , but also tartan fabric, a real historical standard of Scottish clans, dressed in everyday life, both at home and at war.
It was common denominator linking patriotically all Highlanders, so that at mid-eighteenth century wear it became forbidden, in attempt to dispel the group identity and stem insurgents against monarchy.
However, it was a vain attempt because this fabric was also used in subsequent centuries to designate their own clan, indeed even Neil Armstrong took it a little bit with him during his mission to the Moon.
So “Last immortal” is this tissue that, after 400 years, seems not get old. It proves to be timely and portable in its many colors. What is the secret of his longevity?
